Any ISU student can join the Pre-professional program!
DO YOU WANT TO BE A HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL? Illinois State offers a comprehensive preparatory plan of study for admission to graduate level programs in the heath professions. These include medicine, osteopathic medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary medicine, podiatry, and pharmacy. We do not have a “Pre-med” major at ISU, but instead offer a structured plan of courses and experiences for highly motivated students wishing to prepare for a career in the health professions. You may choose any major as long as you take a minimum of two semesters of biology, two semesters of general chemistry, two semesters of organic chemistry, and two semesters of physics (all with labs.)
HOW DO I BECOME A PRE-PROFESSIONAL STUDENT? Visit the Pre-professional Advisor during your freshman year. Your advisor will start a file on you and help you arrange your coursework. Work closely with your advisor.
